Whitefish Education Foundation Scholarship
Three $1,000.00 scholarships
The Whitefish Education Foundation Scholarship is available to Whitefish High School graduating seniors, and students must have participated in some form of community service volunteerism during their high school years. This could range from volunteering at a non-profit organization to assisting an elderly neighbor. There will be 2 $1,000 for Whitefish High School and one $1,000 for the Whitefish Independent High School.
Helen Mulloy Scholarship Fund - $2,000
$2,000 renewable for 4 years with a 3.5 average
Since its inception in 2009, the Helen Mulloy Scholarship Fund has enabled WEF to award over $34,000 in scholarships to students with high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years of attendance at an accredited college or university.
Michael Kuchenbrod Memorial Scholarship
$5,000 renewable annually each year to a new WHS graduate; Minimum 2.5 GPA; Attend a 2-yr, 4-yr, or vocational/trade post-secondary institution in Montana full time
Mike Kuchenbrod was born in Whitefish and graduated from WHS in 1982. He was an outstanding student-athlete. He graduated from Montana State University with a degree in chemical engineering and then earned his Master of Business Administration degree at USC. Mike was a successful businessman, and his career took him to live worldwide.
He was a man of honor, and he was good to people. He was fun to be around and he lived life to the fullest. Mike was ambitious, successful, and had a great sense of humor. He cherished his Whitefish upbringing and was proud of his Montana roots. Education was important to Mike and his family is honored to establish this scholarship in his memory.
In honor of our long-time school administrator, we award a $500.00 scholarship to a WHS senior pursuing a career in education.
Dr. David Sobba Memorial Scholarship - $1,000
Dr. Sobba was a dedicated orthopedic surgeon, who promoted good health and fitness. He helped found The Wave and Whitefish Ice Rink. This scholarship honors his passions despite his untimely death in 2013.
1965 Alumni Scholarship - $1,000
At the conclusion of the WHS graduating class of 1965's 50th. reunion, a fund was donated to the WEF. The Alumni Scholarship was born and $500.00 will be awarded to a WHS senior with higher education plans.
Gladys R Spear Memorial Scholarship - $500
Our program provides a $500 scholarship to a Whitefish High School or Whitefish Independent High School graduate of 2019 that has been diagnosed with a physical or learning disability. We are pleased to invite applications from students pursuing life skills or post-secondary programs at vocational, technical, or trade schools, or undergraduate education.
Emily Leighty/DKG Lambda Scholarship - $1,000
The applicant must be a senior girl graduating from Whitefish High School who plans to major in Education.
The Jack Quatman Memorial Scholarship - $1,000
For a student on an exchange program, the scholarship is for an aspiring AFS student from Whitefish High School.
