WEF proudly administers financial scholarships for Whitefish High School students. All applications are available at the WHS Counseling office.
As the price of college increases, our students’ financial gaps grow wider. Honor a colleague, family member, teacher, or vocation by setting up a scholarship today! It’s easier than you think… and best of all, it’s tax-deductible!
Scholarships start at $1,000 and can be positioned as funds awarded the same year or set up as longer-range, recurring awards. Our foundation is here to reduce the administrative burden on you, allowing you to be involved as much (or as little!) in the application and selection process as you choose.

The following recipients were awarded WEF and WEF-administered scholarships. Congratulations, Class of 2024!
Michael Kuchenbrod Memorial Scholarship ($5,000)
Mike Kuchenbrod was born in Whitefish and graduated from WHS in 1982. He was an outstanding student-athlete. He graduated from Montana State University with a degree in chemical engineering and then earned his Master of Business Administration degree at USC. Mike was a successful businessman, and his career took him to live worldwide.
He was a man of honor, good to people, fun to be around, and lived life to the fullest. Mike was ambitious, successful, and had a great sense of humor. He cherished his Whitefish upbringing and was proud of his Montana roots. Education was important to Mike, and his family is honored to establish this scholarship in his memory.

Helen Mulloy Student Scholarship Fund ($2,000)
Since its inception in 2009, the Helen Mulloy Scholarship Fund has been awarded to students with high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.

Whitefish High School Alumni Scholarship ($500)
At the conclusion of the Class of 1965's 50th. reunion, a fund was donated and the Alumni Scholarship was established to assist students with higher education plans.

Awarded to a graduating female student from Whitefish High School, planning to major in Education.

John Michaels Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
This scholarship is awarded to a student who embodies the spirit of John Michaels who left a legacy of generosity and compassion to the Whitefish Community. Affectionately known as the voice of the Bulldogs, he faithfully broadcast nearly every game, both home and away. Kindness and humility were intrinsic to John’s character, and he exemplified the belief in giving without expecting anything in return. He approached the opportunity to help others with a warm smile, touching the lives of many in his community.

Whitefish Education Foundation Community Service Scholarship ($1,000)
The Whitefish Education Foundation Scholarship is available to Whitefish High School graduating seniors and is awarded to a student who exemplifies the best of community volunteerism.

Gladys R. Spear Memorial Scholarship ($500)
A scholarship dedicated to the advancement of graduates with diagnosed physical or learning disabilities, this scholarship is open to a range of students interested in either pursuing life skills or post-secondary programs at vocational, technical, or trade schools, or undergraduate education.

Awarded to a graduate in support of their post-graduation endeavors.
