Scholarship Mentor Program

Whitefish Scholarship Ceremony

Whitefish Education Foundation

In 2024, the Whitefish Education Foundation launched a pilot program assisting local high school graduating senior students research, organize their approach to, and facilitate applications for scholarships. Post-graduation plans ranged from traditional 4- and 2-year institutions to trade and vocational programs. As a result, 42 unique students won scholarships! We hope to grow that number as we begin our efforts for the WHS Class of 2025!

FAQs

How is this a fit for me?

Having a willingness to learn our preferred online search tools and being passionate about listening and connecting with students during this exciting time in their lives, is all you need to be an impactful volunteer! While we assist in areas ranging from reviewing application materials to conducting specialized 1:1 scholarship searches, most of our students are simply looking for help in organizing their approach and understanding the available resources.

Who do we help?

Under the guidance of Whitefish High School counselors, we assist students who attend both the main and independent high schools.

I can’t volunteer during school hours. How else can I help?

In addition to Mentors meeting students on campus, we are also in need of people who can help (from home!) to help research new and existing scholarship status as well as conduct outreach within the Whitefish community for new scholarships. Time spent can be at your discretion. Pre-approved materials and training are provided as well!
